CEREC® Dental Crowns
Here at Perrinville Family Dentistry we pride ourselves with the latest 3D CAD-CAM CEREC® technology. With this, we can make crowns or dental works in our clinic within an hour. It is a cutting edge technology that has many benefits. With us, you can forget about multiple sessions and prolonged dental procedures. Because we know how precious your time is, we use the latest dental restoration system –CEREC® – which allows us to offer you a quick, precise, and aesthetic treatment.
The concept is also known as "One-hour dentistry." It is a minimally invasive dental procedure, so CEREC® crowns are ideal for patients who want aesthetics and quality in record time. Thanks to the highest quality ceramic material and its transparency, these crowns are almost impossible to distinguish from the natural tooth. Furthermore, they have the advantage of eliminating any allergic reactions due to biocompatible material, very similar to enamel.
The benefits of this revolutionary technology are numerous. First of all, the necessary time for making a crown is reduced to approximately one hour, instead of a few days. Second, you don’t have to go through the usual steps, like taking an impression, making a temporary crown, trying it, etc. It also eliminates human errors that can prolong the number of sessions and treatment time. Adaptation is perfect due to digital fingerprinting and 3D CAD-CAM technology. The esthetics are extraordinary due to the material that is used: ceramics.
How Does CEREC® Work?
In the first phase, an examination is necessary, assessing more factors regarding your oral health. Then, depending on how much the tooth is destroyed, it will determine what exactly is needed. This innovative system is based on a high-performance video camera that accurately captures the targeted area. After completing the computerized design, the information is delivered to a machine which will quickly and precisely produce the best-designed ceramic restoration, all in one hour.
The entire procedure is performed with anesthesia. The oral cavity will be cleaned and prepared. The camera will produce a three-dimensional image of not only the targeted tooth but also the arches and occlusion. This makes the whole process a great deal more comfortable than methods that have been used in the past.
Long-term studies have shown a huge success rate with very few risks with many of the restorations still being completely intact even after ten years. The result is impressive, and the restoration is almost impossible to distinguish from the natural teeth! Whether you opt for a crown, an incrustation or dental veneers, the ceramic and multi-colored ceramic blocks turn into aesthetic restorations in just one hour!
Time-saving often translates into money-saving. The durability of dental restorations using integral ceramics is double compared with traditional dental restorations.
