Proper oral hygiene is something that most people want and have a basic understanding of the process to maintain a healthy mouth overall. However, there are some things that you can do to improve your oral hygiene that will make a difference for your oral health.

Do Not Rinse After Brushing

This might take time to get used to. After all, leaving any amount of toothpaste in your mouth isn't something that sounds appealing to a lot of people. The reason why you might want to skip rinsing is to keep the fluoride sitting on your teeth. Thoroughly spitting instead of rinsing is overall going to be healthier for your mouth!

Brush Right Before Bed

This is something many people know about but do not actively practice. Brushing every morning is great and should be done for a healthy mouth. However, brushing before bed is one of the best things you can do at home. If you are sleeping for eight hours, that is eight hours of not having food, beverages, and gum. Combined with the no rinsing tip, this is a very efficient oral hygiene technique.

Start Flossing

Flossing is often overlooked during the brushing process, but it is an extra step that brings real benefits. Flossing eliminates plaque buildup that you wouldn't notice otherwise and is considered just as important as brushing by many dentists, including us. It may seem unnecessary at first, but once you start doing it, you will feel better and might not want to stop!
These are easy things you can do for your oral hygiene routine that will fit in with any schedule. Once you get into the habit of picking up these techniques, it starts becoming a second nature thing that you end up doing daily.
